WI Update and a New Obsession

I weighed in this morning with a 1lb loss. How the heck that happened I have no idea. I ended the week 53 points in the hole. I dieted on KFC and DQ ice cream cake in honour of Queenie's birthday over the past week. I was not expecting this loss, not one bit, but I will take it and be happy with the overall loss of 7lbs total since I've recommited to being accountable to my body.

I've been playing around with the idea of eating clean. I really want to, but I know I lack the commitment and the time to make it really work for me. As much as I am not embracing the clean eating entirely I'm working towards eating cleaner if not more often than not.

I spend way too much time assembling my newest food addiction so I decided to finally get smart and pre-made 5 containers. Without further adieu, my newest addiction.... overnight oats.

1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup almond butter, 2 tbsp vanilla protein powder, half a mashed thawed banana. Yummy!

And then, a dozen hard boiled eggs that will be in the fridge for a quick pre-made snack.

I was planning on running today. I missed yesterday's run because I was working two 8 hour shifts with not enough time in between. Today's run did not happen because I'm dragging ass in a bad way. I'm sick of being sick. I've been doping up on sinus pain meds and could do without the aches in my arms and shoulders. I hope to get a good night sleep, once I finally get home at 2am. I'm loving the run now. I would have been somewhere near to 80K for the year if I could have run today. No point stressing about it now. It didn't happen. Get over it. Tomorrow is a long run 72 minutes. I hit 7.7K last week at 60 minutes so, I'm really excited to see what tomorrow's run brings.

Ta ta for now.

A Peek Inside My Kitchen

Operation Fat Buster's weekly challenge is to post pics on our individual blogs of the food in our kitchen.

The following are the areas of food in my home. I did the best I could to capture the honesty of the food consumed and purchased. I will say, most of the healthy food you see is mine. Cute Boy's, not so much. He does fruit, but not much in the way of veggies. We are working towards finding a food balance. It is a challenge to be sure.

The Fridge

Upper Cupboard

Storage Shelf in basement

Lower Cupboard

Some of the 'crap' seen is not mine, but when opened will be consumed by me... sad. There are better choices to be made and I'm not making them. Only my issues are standing in the way of my success.

Wee Weights and Chatter

Damn it the days are going to fast and I can't get it all done.

I did hit the gym today though. It was painful, not the work so much but the crowded surroundings. I hit the women's gym today rather than the co-ed thinking it might not be as busy. Boy, was I wrong.

The work out was quick, but I can feel it as I type this right now. I did a quick shoulder weight train and then I threw in a standing bar curl to work my biceps. I used to have the most incredible definition in my biceps and I want that back. The only way to get it back is to work it, so I'm trying to do just that!

The cardio work out left a little to be desired considering I couldn't get myself on a treadmill to save my life. I hit the stairclimber and logged 2K. I could feel it in my arse. An arse kicking is what I need, so in a round about way I got one.

The gym I work out at right now is above a grocery store (Loblaws) and since I didn't have much for dinner I popped in for a quick addition to my dinner tonight. I got a can of Pea Soup and some bars. I bought a Rebar (yuck), Larabar and a Salba bar. Healthy eats to follow up a lackluster work out! It should be more than enough to hold me over while I work tonight. 2am can not come soon enough for me!

I do have a NSV to share. I wanted Starbucks sooooo bad on my way in to work today, but since I'd just gained 3 activity points, I didn't want to spend them on a drink. Very good girl of me, eh! I'm now sipping away on a bottle water and imagining it to be a Starbucks!

That's about all I have right now in regards to working out and eating. Lots going on with the house, but is for another post. I may get around to that later tonight once work slows down and I'm by myself.

Happy eats and work out success to you!

Public Humiliation

Okay, Velda! You've challenged me! Never one to back down from a challenge, I'm laying myself out for public inspection. My weigh in this morning has knocked my world off it's axis and I'm disgusted!

This is not going to be pretty, but here goes:

1. Drink 64 oz water daily
2. Measure my foods. No more eyeballing it.
3. 3 fruit or veggies daily. I should be getting a minimum of 5!
4. Only 1 Tim Horton's French Vanilla Iced Coffee per day, if at all.
5. Run at least every other day starting with my new running week of Monday. I'll update that on my Yankee Stadium Distance challenge
6. Forgive myself for my lazy approach to my body. It breaks my heart, but I can not continue to mentally beat myself up anymore. It is detrimental to my emotional well being.
7. Track my WW journal.

No more, 'oh, I ate bad, I'm not counting anymore' attitude.

For now, that is all I have.

Thanks, V! Love ya, hon.
