I have been plugging away. Time is in short supply, so I'll be another couple weeks before another update. It's all about the journey, not about how fast you travel said journey. Right?

It's funny how much I've changed in regards to my stitching mentality. I have had little to no desire to pick up any other piece work that I have on the go, and trust when I say I have many to chose from, I really do.

I mentioned in a previous post that I'm going to be selling some of my finished works that I have just hanging in a closet. It is sad, very very sad, not the selling of the pieces, but the beautiful works just hanging in a closet. I took a picture of one yesterday that I'm going to have Cute Boy list on his E-Bay account to sell. I have debt to pay and this may very help get rid of some of that debt. It's a plan and we'll see if is a good one.

It took me a bit to get to another 10 hour block. I'm back though. Still making progress on this piece. Truth be told, I'm loving that I've picked my stitching back up after about a year away. I find it really gives my life balance. Balance from the running, literally the running I am doing as well as the busy pace of my life. It feels good. Very therapeutic. If I'm lucky I just may have this piece finished in time for Christmas. No pressure though. If it happens it happens. If not, oh well.

Home for the Holidays 30 hours and more

So, last night it was a gathering of the minds. Crazy minds that is. Mary came over to visit Pam and I as she will do from time to time. It is always a blast. Never a moment not filled with laughter and good times. It was like old times that Pam and I used to share, but with the wonderful addition of Mary. We had Timmy's tea with chocolate vitamuffins for snack. Good times. Good food.

Last nights get together was for the sole purpose of getting Mary moving on her stitching. Well, Mary made progress alright. Look at what she did last night. Be proud, I am! LOL

This is what it will look like when it's finished. And, Mary, you will finish it. 100 stitches at a time. Okay, I know you are sitting at 29 stitches in this picture, but will get there eventually and look like this!


Below is the most recent installment in my stocking. This is at 30 hours. It's amazing how much more progress one can make when not ripping stitches out because one fails to count well beyond 5.

Syl, you had asked in my last stitching entry if I will show the final picture of when I've completed this piece. The answer is, "Yes, and every picture until then at 10 hour intervals'.

Home for the Holidays - 20 hours

This is what I've been doing when working evenings. I would have had a lot more progress to show, but I had a visit from the frogs. Damn them. I must be coming full circle because it really didn't bother me too much that I had to pull out progress. I figured this, as with everything else in my life, this is about the journey now how fast I cross the finish line on the journey.

I finally feel as though I'm back to being me to some extent. I'm stitching. I'm running. I'm eating better. I'm reading. I'm doing the things I used to do that always put a smile on my face. Now, if I could only get another 2 or 3 hours in the day to do it ALL I'd be on top of the world!

Home for the Holidays

This would be the stocking I am stitching for myself. I have recently picked up a needle again and am excited to say I've hit a 10 hour block. This stitching Passion, Obsession or Insanity used to be the main focus of my blog, but as of late, not so much. I'm trying to remedy that and find some balance with all things I love.

Stitching is something I love, but don't do very often. I don't find there is much of a place for it in my home, in my life and thats tough. All the time away from it, I've missed and now would probably be classed as a slow stitcher, but thats okay. I'm stitching, and really, that feels amazing. I have stocking already done for Princess, yet to find one for Queenie and am making small progress on mine. I would love to do one for Cute Boy and each of his girls, but we'll see. First things first. Work on mine.

I have a small confession to make in regards to this piece though. I put the first stitch in this piece January 1, 2007. 3 years to get 10 hours completed. That is the insanity of the situation.
